Tough twins headed for Albert Square

Two new arrivals on EastEnders are set to become Walford's answer to the Kray twins, according to the Daily Mirror.

But unlike the notorious east London gangsters, the new rulers of Albert Square are leggy blonde bombshells.

Roxy and Ronnie are the cousins of the Mitchell brothers Phil and Grant and will take over the running of the Queen Vic as their aunt Peggy is busy with her new husband.

"The Mitchell boys have had their heyday, but Grant has disappeared and Phil's a family man now," said Rita Simons who plays Roxy.

"The girls are coming to regain the Mitchell territory in Walford. The boys are the old school - we're the new generation."

Samantha Janus (pictured) will play her sister Ronnie and highlighted the link between the girls and former crime bosses Ronnie and Reggie Kray.

"There's a reason you've got two women who are so co-dependent and dysfunctional - and it's no coincidence that they're called Ronnie and Roxy," she said.

"They are chilling, dark and absolutely in touch with what the other is doing."
