Victoria Beckham discusses smiling struggles
6 November 2007 - Victoria Beckham has opened up on US television about why she looks so unhappy in paparazzi photos.
The Spice Girl told chat show host Ellen DeGeneres that she does not intend to look moody and serious.
"When you're leaving The Ivy, you don't think, 'I'd better smile for this shot'," she explained.
"Pictures are out there like that but they get edited in a certain way. I don't know what my good side or bad side is."
However, in an earlier interview with presenter Ryan Seacrest, the mother-of-three made fun of her signature pouty expression, suggesting that people who dress up as Posh Spice for Halloween should "not smile a lot" and "look really miserable".
Posh and Becks finished fifth in a list of most popular celebrity Halloween costumes in the US this year, while Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt took the top spot.
Speaking with Ellen, Victoria also talked about her difficulties with finding the right work-out clothes, claiming that fashion uncertainty prevented her from going to the gym.
She also said that her children are accustomed to the celebrity lifestyle and "think that all mommies are Spice Girls and all daddies play soccer".
