Winehouse in self-harm shock

Soulful singer Amy Winehouse shocked a US rock reporter by cutting herself with a shard of broken mirror during an interview.

The Rehab star cut the words "I love Blake" - a reference to her new husband Blake Fielder-Civil - into her stomach with the piece of mirror which was left over from a photo shoot.

"I'm not in this to be a [expletive] role model," Amy told the Spin magazine interviewer.

"I don't care about any of this and I don't have much of an opinion of myself. I don't think people care about me.

"I made an album I'm very proud of and that's it."

Amy has recently announced she was thinking of quitting the music business to become a full-time wife and mother, despite the huge success she has enjoyed both in the UK and America during her short career.

This year she has already won recognition at the Brits and the Elle Style Awards, as well as picking up the coveted gong for Best Contemporary Song at the Ivor Novello Awards for her song Rehab.
