Oil worker wins Miss GB
Scottish oil industry worker Rachael Tennent has been declared the fairest of them all in the Miss Great Britain 2007 contest.
At the glitzy ceremony at London's Grosvenor House hotel, Rachael beat 49 other contestants to the crown despite being an outside shot at 25-1 before the competition having only finished third in last year's Miss Scotland contest.
Rachael, 19, is a part-time model and works for oil company RBG Ltd.
The 5'7 blonde, who also holds the title Miss Aberdeen, takes the title from Preeti Desai, who stepped in to replace Danielle Lloyd, pictured, after she was disqualified for featuring in a nude Playboy shoot and dating Teddy Sheringham while he was a judge of the 2006 contest.
Rachael wowed this year's judges which included Emmerdale actress Lucy Pargeter, racing pundit John McCririck and Zoo magazine editor Ben Todd.
But host comedienne Joan Rivers was not so impressed by the girls and accused the contest of being sexist, saying: "My advice to these girls? Marry rich immediately - immediately - so everything is in place. If you can meet someone tonight, leave the contest in the centre of it."
However, Rachael (who, as was repeated throughout the contest, has measurements of 32/25/32) told the Independent: "It's not sexist. It's unfair to say that. We are all having good fun."
