Take That

Young singers aim to be Take That 2

Dozens of young singers have auditioned to star in Never Forget, the West End musical telling the fictional story of a Take That tribute band.

The show is the latest chapter in the resurgence of Take That, although the band have not endorsed the musical, saying that they have no involvement in it.

Mark, Gary, Howard and Jason announced that they were reuniting in 2006 after ten years apart and have since enjoyed two number one hits.

The amazing comeback that the loveable lads from up north have experienced has proved to the organisers of Never Forget that affection for the band has not been dimmed by time.

Cardiff will be the show's first home before it takes to the road and eventually ends up on the London stage.

Jackie Edgley, mother of audition hopeful Craig, said: "I am very proud of him. He's always loved performing, ever since he was a little boy.

"He's only 17 so he doesn't really remember the old Take That songs but he knows the new ones."

Jay McManus, another aspiring performer, admitted: "I'm not really a Take That fan'm a lot more into 80s rock, like Billy Idol and Iron Maiden."
