EastEnders' Rita Simons has Roxy love wish

9 November 2007 - 'EastEnders' star Rita Simons is desperate for her character to have a fling with bad boy Sean Slater.

The blonde actress - who plays feisty Roxy Mitchell in the BBC soap - wants the barmaid to have a bit of fun with Albert Square's resident heartthrob.

She said: "I've always said she should get together with Sean. He's the fittest bloke there, isn't he? Roxy loves a bad boy, too, and that guy's a proper lunatic. I keep pushing the show's producers for a romance with Sean, but get no response! There's a major lack of totty in Albert Square at the moment, so I suppose we'll have to wait and see if anyone else turns up."

Rita - who joined the soap in July with Samantha Janus, who plays her on screen sister Ronnie - says working on 'EastEnders' is "the perfect job".

She added: "Getting to share scenes with Steve McFadden, who plays Phil, and Barbara Windsor, who plays Peggy, is fantastic. Everyone here is genuinely so nice. For me, it's just the perfect job."
