Nick Miles sheds tears over wedding

5 October 2007 - Emmerdale actor Nick Miles admitted that he cried while reading the script for his upcoming onscreen wedding.

The 45-year-old told the Sun that he shed tears when he read what was in store for his character Jimmy King and fiancee Kelly Windsor "as it was really, really moving".

"It's a fantastic episode and a bit of a rollercoaster - and for a change the groom is late," he explained.

He added that Jimmy will fly into a rage after being shown photos of Kelly kissing Eli Dingle, saying: "An Emmerdale wedding wouldn't be an Emmerdale wedding without a punch-up."

Nick said that he and Joseph Gilgun, who plays Eli, had a lot of fun filming the ensuing fight scene.

He also remarked that he will miss working with Adele Silva, who is leaving Emmerdale soon following a successful experience on Hell's Kitchen, where chef Pierre Marco White lauded her culinary skills.

The actress' impending departure also raises questions about whether Jimmy and Kelly will actually get to tie the knot.

Nick Miles joined the cast of the soap in February 2004. In real life, the actor married partner Stephanie Lump at a registry office last December.
