X Factor - Daniel De Bourg

X Factor - Daniel De Bourg is the second to go

29 October 2007 - Single dad Daniel De Bourg became the second contestant to be voted off The X Factor on Saturday night.

The 31-year-old found himself in the bottom two with Alisha Bennet - who won the battle of the bottom two the previous week when Kimberley southwick got the chop.

It was Daniel's performance of The Foundations' track 'Build Me Up Buttercup' which failed to impress the viewing public - as it was a bit... well... boring.

Judge and mentor Louis Walsh received tongue lashings from fellow judges who criticised his choice of song for Daniel, with Simon Cowell describing the choice as a "joke".

And in the end, only Walsh chose to save Daniel, while the other three judges decided to save Alisha again.

Following his booting, Daniel said: "It's been a chance to perform in front of millions of people. Thank you."
