Marco Pierre White calls Jamie Oliver "fat" and attention-seeking

19 September 2007 - Marco Pierre White has spoken out about fellow celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, calling him "fat" and attention-seeking.

The 45-year-old told the Sun that he resents being criticised by Oliver, who branded White a "psychological bully" on a radio programme.

"I'd like to see him call me a bully to my face. Go and win your first Michelin star, Jamie, and then I might take you seriously," White responded.

White was the first and youngest chef in Britain to win three Michelin stars, though he gave them up in 1999.

The Leeds-born chef went on to rubbish Oliver's school dinners campaign, calling it a "cheap stunt" for publicity's sake. He also described his rival as "a fat chef with a drum kit".

Regarding Angus Deayton, who compered Hell's Kitchen, White described several clashes between the two.

It recently emerged that White could be at risk of losing millions of pounds in a divorce from his third wife, which is currently in progress.

Mati has been married to the chef for seven years and the pair have three children together. She is reportedly seeking half of White's £40 million fortune.
