Strictly Come Dancing - Gabby Logan speaks out about departure
30 October 2007 - Gabby Logan has admitted that getting booted off Strictly Come Dancing was "a shock".
Writing in the Times, the 34-year-old admitted that she could be "addicted to dancing" and said that her departure had left her feeling "empty and slightly directionless".
"I didn't believe I had a right to stay by any stretch of the imagination, but I had hoped my journey might last a few weeks more as I was having the time of my life," she wrote.
The sports presenter discussed her reputation as a competitive contestant, explaining that her "work rate and love of training" drove her to pour herself into preparing for the show - but she insisted that winning was not her main aim.
Judges decided to eliminate Gabby after she was forced to take part in a dance-off against Penny Lancaster-Stewart. Both women had been widely predicted to go far on the show, but judges had to give one of them the boot.
Meanwhile, Gabby's husband, rugby player Kenny Logan, has remained in the competition despite getting lower marks than his wife.
In a show of support, Kenny suggested that fans create a campaign to demand Gabby be asked back on the show. Read the full story about Gabby's exit >
