Weakest Link star Anne Robinson to divorce
1 October 2007 - Anne Robinson, who presents The Weakest Link, is set to split from her husband of 27 years.
The 63-year-old and hubby John Penrose are divorcing on the grounds of irreconcilable differences, according to a spokesperson, who added that "no one else is involved".
As part of the divorce, Robinson is reportedly set to give her husband half of her estimated £60 million fortune.
In past, both Robinson and Penrose have admitted to affairs, but both insist there is "no acrimony" as they part.
"We have been an enormously important part of each other's lives for a very long time and our friendship will carry on forever," Robinson said in a statement.
The couple have no children together, but Robinson has a daughter from her first marriage, to former Times editor Charlie Wilson.
Robinson and Penrose met while working as journalists in north London and married in 1980.
After a stint with the Daily Mail, Robinson went on to present Points of View and Watchdog before finding worldwide fame with The Weakest Link.
Meanwhile, Penrose has worked as his wife's agent and now runs a property company.
A source told the Sun: "They have just realised they have no future together. It is very sad but they both felt a divorce was for the best."
