Kerry Katona's baby is still alive

28 September 2007 - After recent reports that she had suffered a miscarriage, it has been discovered that Kerry Katona's baby is alive.

The I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here winner was delighted to be told by doctors at the Regency Hospital in Macclesfield that her unborn child had a heartbeat.

Kerry, 27, had been admitted to the hospital 24 hours earlier after suffering heavy bleeding.

The 27-year-old former Atomic Kitten singer, who is currently featured on the cover of OK! magazine, was sure that she had miscarried.

However, medics gave her a second scan and it was revealed that her fourth child is still on the way.

Max Clifford, Kerry's publicist, remarked: "Kerry went back into hospital for a medical procedure on Tuesday night. However, a blood test revealed surprising results - her pregnancy hormones had gone up, not down.

"It has transpired that Kerry is only five weeks pregnant, not seven to eight weeks, which is why the scan was not clear - and coupled with bleeding led to her being diagnosed with having had a miscarriage."

It has been a dramatic year for Kerry. In July, she and husband Mark Croft were taken hostage by burglars in their Wilmslow home.
