X Factor - Rhydian's wedding promise

12 December 2007 - Hot favourite to win this year's X Factor competition Rhydian Roberts has wowed one of his fans by agreeing to sing at her daughter's wedding.

Real Radio Wales's Breakfast Show presenter Angela Jay introduced Kristyna Bater from Pontyclun to her new found hero at Cardiff's Welsh Millennium Centre on Monday and she cheekily asked the him to sing when her daughter marries next year.

Kristyna was just one of hundreds of Rhydian fans who braved the cold and wind to catch a glimpse of the Welsh hero who met fans, signed autographs and gave a brief but spectacular vocal performance at the Welsh Millennium Centre in Cardiff last night.

And when Real Radio's breakfast show presenter Angela Jay introduced Rhydian to Kristyna she said that she had voted hundreds of time for him.

She then surprised Rhydian and asked "my daughter wants you to sing at her wedding" to which Rhydian replied without hesitation, "It'll be a pleasure, when's the wedding?"

Kristyna said "a year May" to which big hearted Rhydian said "I'm BOOKED!"

Kristyna said; "Both me and Sarah Jayne are ecstatic that Rhydian had agreed to sing at wedding, I'll be following up his promise with a thank you letter and an invitation to the wedding ceremony; not just to perform at the reception."

Real Breakfast presenter, Angela Jay said: "I can't believe it! Rhydian was so nice and he said yes to performing for Kristyna's daughter without a second thought.

"Although the X-Factor crew kept people hanging around in the cold for hours, Rhydian certainly made it up to his fans when he arrived.

"He's a great guy who deserves all the fame he has coming to him."
