X Factor - Kylie and Jason to reunite for final

12 December 2007 - Excitement for the final just went up a notch with the news that Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan will both make an appearance.

The singers, who set teenage hearts aflutter in the 1980s, will be X Factor's special guests as it crowns the winner of the series.

However, fans of 1988 hit duet Especially For You might be upset to learn that Kylie and Jason will not be taking to the stage together.

Pop princess Kylie will join Leon Jackson for a number and Jason will sing with Same Difference, it was revealed today.

The other finalist, Rhydian Roberts, will be accompanied by stunning Welsh opera star Katherine Jenkins, although no song titles have yet been confirmed.

Previous celebrity appearances on the show this series have included Canadian warbler Celine Dion and the smooth jazz singer Michael Buble, who invited teenager Leon onstage at Wembley to sing with him.

The winner of X Factor not only wins a £1 million recording contract but also releases a song over the Christmas period, which is believed to be a cover of When You Believe this year.

The song was originally sung by Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston.
