X Factor - Hope have tantrum following fashion faux pas
23 November 2007 - Girls Aloud wannabes Hope have succeeded in changing Simon Cowell's mind about their next song following a massive tantrum.
According to the Sun, Hope were set to sing a Supremes hit for the upcoming edition of X Factor, but flatly refused and persuaded Simon to let them choose a Christina Aguilera ballad instead.
Simon has a lot of pull on the show and an insider said it was very surprising that Hope were allowed to choose their own tune.
However, following the recent disco-themed week, the head judge may be looking to improve on what was a disastrous collection of performances and outfit choices.
Hope, who sang an Abba track, wore horrendous metallic jumpsuits which may or may not been part of the reason they were placed in the bottom two.
"Simon agreed their jumpsuits weren't great last week," the insider told the Sun.
"He trusts Hope so he's told them they can choose & acts are never allowed to style themselves normally."
Previous weeks have seen Hope looking fabulous in a collection of slinky dresses, such as when they performed a version of Amy Winehouse's up-tempo ballad Back to Black.
