X Factor - Call me Walsh Louis Walsh

26 November 2007 - While X Factor contestants are busy causing chaos backstage, it seems that Louis Walsh is still capable of making headlines.

The Irish judge, who is currently mentoring dinner lady-turned singer Niki, is not actually called Louis Walsh, as a shocked audience found out recently.

During commercial breaks of each X Factor episode, a "warm-up man" entertains the audience by telling jokes and chatting, reports the Sun.

But upon seeing Louis' 76-year-old mum in the crowd, he asked her if the music mogul's name was his real moniker.

And Louis was left rather embarrassed when it turned out that he was actually called Michael Vincent.

"When Simon Cowell came back into the studio he admitted he had no idea of Louis' secret and thought it was brilliant," an insider told the newspaper.

"Poor Louis was a bit red-faced."

Louis isn't the only one to call himself by something else - many other celebs are known by stage names, such as Elton John, whose real name is Reg Dwight, or Carmen Electra, who is also known as Tara Patrick.
