X Factor - Futureproof Richard says Hope will split

7 November 2007 - X Factor girl-band Hope are not quite as friendly as they appear and actually "detest" each other, it has been alleged.

Futureproof singer Richard Wilkinson told Digital Spy that far from being as lovey-dovey as they seem on screen, the Hope ladies have big differences in their personalities.

So much so, he added, that they will probably split up if they get knocked out of the competition.

"A couple of the members really do detest each other. Because we've heard them arguing," Richard divulged. "There's no way that if they were put out of the competition that they'd stay together."

He also claimed that Raquel would be the first one chomping at the bit to snag a solo career - but said Futureproof are determined to stay together despite exiting the finals in week three.

Both groups were manufactured during the audition stages, when as individuals they did not make the grade but were told that forming two separate bands might give them more of a chance.

The current season saw Simon Cowell take charge of mentoring the groups, with Dannii Minogue responsible for the boys, Sharon Osbourne for the girls and Louis Walsh mentoring the over-25s.
