Strictly Come Dancing - Alesha is the champion

24 December 2007 - On Saturday 12.1million viewers tuned in to see Alesha Dixon become the first female winner of Strictly Come Dancing for three years.

It has been the perfect happy ending for Alesha Dixon who was contemplating suicide this time last year after she was dropped from her record label and her marriage fell apart.

Things are certainly looking up for the former Misteeq star. Bruce Forsyth believes she could become "Britain's Beyonce" and PR guru Max Clifford has predicted Alesha could earn £5million in the next year through album sales, magazine deals and advertising.

Alesha has decided not to join the Strictly Come Dancing Tour in January. Beaten finalist Matt Di Angelo will be taking part with his dance partner Flavia.
