Strictly Come Dancing - Fingers crossed for a Brucie bonus
24 December 2007 - It could be a case of "knight to see you, to see you knight" next year if Bruce Forsyth is included in the Queen's honours.
According to the Sun, 79-year-old Brucie is to be knighted next year after an online petition demonstrated how much the public love him.
Even Strictly co-host Tess Daly made a cheeky joke about "Sir Bruce" on the final of the show this week.
And the newspaper said that prime minister Gordon Brown will approve the award before it is officially agreed by Her Royal Highness.
"The award is a major victory for a campaign waged by the Sun in the wake of Brucie's big career comeback," it added.
Brucie debuted on television back in 1939 when he sang and danced on a talent show.
He is widely known for his hilarious jokes and banter on shows such as Bruce Forsyth's Generation Game, which featured the famous cuddly toy moment on the final conveyor belt round and his catchphrases "didn't they do well" and "what's on the board Miss Ford".
Brucie also hosted You Bet! and The Price is Right among other shows before presenting Strictly Come Dancing for the first time in 2004.
