Coronation Street's Kym Ryder "frightened" by grandmotherhood
25 September 2007 - 'Coronation Street' star Kym Ryder is "frightened" she could become a grandmother at 35.
The 31-year-old actress - who plays barmaid Michelle Connor on The Street - worries her children Emily, nine, and David, 12, will soon have kids of their own.
Kym told Britain's Soap Life magazine: "Technically I could be a gran at 35. That's frightening. I hadn't planned to be a mum at 18. If my kids told me they wanted children of their own at that age I would tell them what a bad idea it is. But if they went ahead I'd be supportive as I couldn't be a hypocrite.
"But it's even more scary because I definitely want another child of my own."
Despite being keen to have a child together, Kym and her husband - former 'EastEnders' star Jack Ryder - are currently too busy to have a baby.
She said: "David and Emily pester me for a brother or sister, but they're going to have to wait. We're both busy so we want to make sure we have the time to enjoy it. It's all very frightening, though. It's been almost 10 years since I last gave birth and I'm sure a lot has changed."
Kym and Jack recently celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary.
David and Emily still see their father, David Cuncliffe, regularly.
