X Factor - I miss Niki so much says her hubby

27 November 2007 - The public may have decided to keep her in the competition but the husband of Niki Evans cannot wait for her to return home.

Darren Evans, who is married to 34-year-old singing starlet Niki, told the Daily Star how starved of affection he has been since she made it to the final of the show.

And although he is ecstatic about her continuing success with voters and judges alike, he is prepared to do almost anything to get her alone for a few minutes.

"It has been a long, long seven weeks," he said, explaining how he misses "special moments" and cuddles with her.

Niki is being mentored by Louis Walsh and has blossomed from a quiet and nervous contestant to a pop diva - something that has seen her become more popular with the male viewers each week.

But Darren said he is not jealous of all the attention she is receiving.

"I love it," he remarked. "She is taking it all in her stride and so am I."

Niki is the only over-25 left in the competition, after Beverley Trotman's shock exit in the most recent episode.
