Leon Jackson

X Factor - Leon's big day

19 December 2007 - Leon Jackson has had his first jam-packed day as an A-list celebrity.

He invited the Mirror to join him and see just what the X Factor winner got up to in the aftermath of the final, which saw the 18-year-old beat hot favourite Rhydian Roberts.

Waking in the wee hours of the morning, Leon was driven from his swanky hotel to the GMTV studios, where he performed two live songs and was given a hug by Lorraine Kelly.

He then headed to the Radio 2 studio for an interview with Steve Wright, who presents the afternoon show.

Lunchtime saw Leon travel to ITN and appear on the lunchtime news bulletin, signing autographs and posing for photographs amidst the busy schedule.

Another interview, this time at Sky, was next on the agenda, with a few hours rest before the X Factor official aftershow bash in the evening.

Meanwhile, ITV has issued a statement in response to the fans who complained that the final result was fixed.

"We know there are many Rhydian fans who are disappointed that he did not win, but the simple fact is that Leon won the X Factor fair and square."
