Ugly Betty cast prepares for Posh

18 September 2007 - Ugly Betty actress Vanessa Williams has said that the show's cast is eagerly anticipating a meeting with Victoria Beckham.

The Spice Girl is set to make a one-off appearance on the award-winning Channel 4 programme, playing herself.

Vanessa, who has received an Emmy nomination for playing self-centred Wilhelmina Slater in the series, said that Victoria is due to stop by the studios very soon.

"She's coming in for the fitting on Monday and we're all really excited. I think she'll be phenomenal. You have to have a sense of humour when you're playing yourself," she told OK! magazine.

It appears that Victoria could have a new friend in Vanessa, who admitted that her children attend the same school as the Beckhams'.

"Our kids go to the same school, so we have parents' lunches. And I saw her a few weeks ago at the High School Musical 2 premiere," she remarked.

Earlier this month, reports had emerged that David Beckham would also be appearing on the small screen, playing one half of a gay couple on Desperate Housewives.

However, Housewives star Eva Longoria has vehemently denied the claim, which had also suggested that Robbie Williams was to play David's lover.
