Hollyoaks cast to sing for charity
31 October 2007 - Some members of the cast of Hollyoaks have agreed to sing together to benefit children's charities.
A group comprised of Gerard McCarthy (Kris Fisher), Kevin Sacre (Jake Dean), Loui Batley (Sarah Barnes) and Summer Strallen (Summer Shaw) will perform a Marc Bolan medley at the next Children in Need event in November, Digital Spy reports.
Gerard told the news provider that he hopes fans will enjoy watching the soap stars singing live.
"We're honoured to be singing songs from such a great artist alongside a host of established performers such as Spice Girls, Westlife and the Sugababes," he remarked.
Among the T-Rex songs the actors will perform is Children of the Revolution, which will help mark the 30th anniversary of the singer's death.
A source confirmed that the Hollyoaks stars have already had their first vocal session and will soon be learning some dance moves to go with the songs.
Hollyoaks producer Bryan Kirkwood said that the event would be "a great opportunity to show that our cast aren't just actors but all-round performers".
In related news, Darren Jeffries recently announced that he will be leaving Hollyoaks in February after more than a decade playing OB on the show.
