Strictly Come Dancing's Kenny Logan

Strictly Come Dancing - Kenny Logan is 9th casualty

3 December 2007 - Ex-rugby player Kenny Logan became the ninth person to be voted off Strictly Come Dancing last night after failing to impress the show's judges in the dance off.

All the remaining couples danced two different numbers, but as always, one of those couples had to leave. So it was Kenny and Letitia Dean who found themselves in the bottom two competing in the dance off.

Kenny performed the Foxtrot and Letitia performed the Quickstep, their highest scoring dances with the judges.

Of Kenny's first performances, the judges said:

Foxtrot

Len Goodman: "You come out and give it 100%. Your work ethic is great and if it was based on that you'd be the winner." Score: 8.

Craig Revel Horwood: "Definitely your best dance yet. I can see you've been working on your footwork but you need to get your thumb down." Score: 7.

Bruno Tonioli: "Nine weeks ago I would never have though I'd see Kenny taking the lead on the foxtrot. Your movement in ballroom is extraordinary. I really thought this would be a disaster because it's the hardest to lead. It's not perfect but you've done a great job." Score: 8.

Arlene Phillips: "Yes. You've improved. You didn't flow and float and why, if you're here next week, your leg extensions. You're tall with long legs and you need to step out. If you're here next week I want you to think about that." Score: 7.

Total: 30/40.

Rumba

Len: "It's two dances not do one get one free. It was too much of Ola [partner Ola Jordan] and not enough of you Kenny." Score: 7.

Craig: "Sadly it was missing any real Rumba steps. But the story telling was very good. I'd have liked to have seen more steps." Score: 4.

Bruno: "'Kenny no thumb' is your new name. The beginning started well then you stopped in the middle like a bouncer – why? She was running around you. You had her in the beginning, you let it slip and in the end you didn't catch it up." Score: 7.

Arlene: "No rumba content. It was like the pole and the pole dancer dancing around him. It was like poles from Poland. There was nothing there – Kenny barely moved." Score: 5.

Total: 23/40.

They scored a total of 53/80 making them bottom of the judges' leader board.

But the judges came to a unanimous decision on the dance off.

They said:

Craig: "Based on this performance... for the musicality and showbiz it has to be Letitia and Darren."

Arlene: "I've never had such a difficult choice but I said to put a spring in her step and a spring she did. Letitia and Darren."

Bruno: "This person tonight raised their game... she showed and excelled and that is Leitia and Darren."

Len: "If I could have judged with my heart Kenny you would be back. But on that performance alone Letitia and Darren."

Kenny said: "I just want to thank everyone behind the scenes... Ola was the most amazing dancer and I also want to thank James and Gabby."

Kylie Minogue performed on the show tonight with the Strictly Come Dancing professional boys dancing with her.

Sadly Kelly Brook decided to leave the competition following the loss of her father this week.

Kelly had done some training as she had hoped to continue with the show in his memory. However, understandably she found it too difficult. Read the full story about her quitting the show >

The competition continues next week with the couples having to perform two more dances.
