Strictly Come Dancing - Kate Garraway trots off

19 November 2007 - Kate Garraway was finally voted off 'Strictly Come Dancing' last night.

The 'GMTV' presenter - who had been kept on the show for seven weeks by her loyal fans despite receiving poor marks from the judges - came bottom in the judges' scores for her Paso Doble routine.

When the scores and the public vote were added together Kate and partner Anton De Beke were told they faced the dance-off with England and Liverpool legend John and his partner Nicole Cutler.

After the dances, all four judges voted for Kate to go.

When she was told of her vote a clearly emotional Kate said: "I've had the time of my life on 'Strictly Come Dancing'. I want to thank Anton, for being such a wonderful 'dance-husband' but most of all the people at home who every week gave me a chance.

"I hope I repaid their good faith by at least being entertaining even if it often was for all the wrong reasons!

"The time has come, though, for the competition to be about real dancers so I'm happy to bow out, sit back and enjoy the rest of the show.

"I am fitter than I was six weeks ago, can at least do a passable foxtrot and have developed a love of dancing which will never leave me."

Singer Alesha Dixon, TV presenter Gethin Jones, model and actress Kelly Brook, Scottish rugby star Kenny Logan, actress Letitia Dean and actor Matt D'Angelo remain in the series along with John.
