Strictly Come Dancing - Bruno Tonioli says show is battle of the hunks

27 November 2007 - It is getting steamier on the Strictly Come Dancing set as judge Bruno Tonioli agreed it has turned into "battle of the hunks".

The Italian motor-mouth, who is also part of the panel on US equivalent Dancing with the Stars, gave a candid interview to the Sun and let rip about what he really thinks of the current UK contestants.

Labelling Blue Peter cutie Gethin Jones as "handsome", he said Brendan Cole was a complete ladies' man and called him "happy pants".

He also confessed that fellow judge Arlene Phillips had a thing for Kenny Logan, whose kilt-wearing would have been much more exciting "if he'd forgotten his pants".

And of the rumoured romance between Matt di Angelo and dance partner Flavia Cacace? Bruno said he would not be surprised if something is going on.

"If you keep rubbing up against each other in the rumba, something's going to happen," he said.

Boys aside, Bruno described how painful it was to watch Kate Garraway attempt to dance and said that she was so bad, it was like seeing partner Anton du Beke "dragging a mop across the floor".

The current competition recently saw Kate kicked off after some truly dismal performances, followed by John Barnes who was next for the chop.
