Ant and Dec

Ant and Dec weather new roles

27 September 2007 - TV presenters Ant and Dec took viewers by surprise when they read the GMTV weather on air recently.

The popular pair took the reigns from the usual weather presenter, Clare Nasir, and used the weather map to deliver the UK forecast.

Dec seemed to be making the most of his 7:25 BST report, admitting: "I'm quite enjoying this."

Meanwhile, Ant took charge of the 7:58 BST reading and explained to viewers: "Believe me, I know what I'm talking about. I've spent a week at the Met Office."

However, he was less sure of his role by the end, saying: "I never want to do that again."

Ant, 31, also managed to stick a message to his mother into his report, announcing that it was her birthday and adding a "happy birthday mam" for her enjoyment.

The task was part of the presenters' popular entertainment programme, Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.

Earlier this month, they dressed up as 1970s TV characters Starsky and Hutch to race Coronation Street stars Tina O'Brien and Ryan Thomas in celebrity road challenge Beat the Boys.
