Hermione has a baby girl

Cold Feet star Hermione Norris has given birth to a baby girl.

The baby, who is named Hero, was born at Queen Charlotte's Hospital in London, weighing six pounds, seven and a half ounces.

Hermione took time out from the filming of the new series of ITV1's ratings winning drama Kingdom for the birth of her second child. She and her husband, Simon Wheeler, the executive producer of Kingdom, have a three year old son, Wilf.

Simon Wheeler says: "We are absolutely thrilled to have a baby daughter, and Wilf is delighted that he has a sister. They are both doing well."

Hermione will be back on the set of Kingdom next month to complete filming of the series which will be back on ITV1 next year.

The baby's name was inspired by the character Hero in Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing.
