Liz yet to pay the preacher?

Actress Liz Hurley has been accused of not having paid the vicar for her lavish £2 million wedding to millionaire Arun Nayar earlier this year.

Locals in the village of Winchcombe in Gloucestershire said that the former model had still to fork out the £800 fee for the ceremony to Reverend John Partington, despite cashing in on the wedding herself in a multi-million pound exclusive deal with Hello! magazine.

Morris Davies, 69, a retired postman who lives in the village, told the Daily Mail: "She is a celebrity, I am sure that they think they don't have to fork out for anything.

"But a lot of the locals are not very happy about her not paying the most important person in the ceremony - the vicar."

Mr Davies added that Liz had already raised the hackles of locals by disrupting village life with the huge ceremony and by calling in caterers from London instead of using local providers.

Reverend Partington refused to reveal whether the payment had been made, saying: "Any arrangements are a private matter and I'm perfectly happy with the arrangements made."

However, the furore in the village adds to the list of problems that have cropped up for Liz over her wedding extravaganza in February.

Having been hitched at a chapel in the grounds of Sudeley Castle, the party travelled to Arun's native India for a second wedding celebration.

But Liz's new in-laws criticised the couple for breaking Hindu conventions by drinking alcohol, while police clashed with TV crews and photographers outside as the paparazzi fought for pictures of the couple.
