Baby on the way for Christina
American pop star Christina Aguilera is pregnant, according to her estranged father.
Although the Beautiful singer's representatives have kept quiet over reports Christina is expecting her first child with husband Jordan Bratman, the grandfather-to-be Fausto Aguilera broke the news.
He told American magazine Life and Style: "I'm so excited. I want Christina to achieve all her goals. I wish her all the happiness in the world."
Fausto has been attempting to reconcile with his daughter after she cut him out of her life due to his violent treatment of her and her mother when she was a child.
Christina told US magazine Blender in 2003 that she had blocked out the fights between her parents by hiding in her room and singing to her stuffed animals to drown out the shouting and violence.
"It's just the way I coped," she said. "I would hide under the bed, just singing and thinking to myself, 'One day, I'm going to get out of this and become a famous singer'."
Having fulfilled those dreams, Christina is embarking on another one with her pregnancy, sources say.
An insider said: "She's thrilled. She's feeling wonderful and taking good care of herself. She's been planning this for a while, so her health is better than it's ever been.
"Christina's seen women with great careers, like Gwen Stefani, also raise great kids, and she feels as if she can follow their example."
