Britney jeered after lip-synch disaster

Fans had queued for hours and paid up to £250 for a ticket, but when Britney hit the stage the audience didn't get what they'd bargained for.

After her stint in rehab, Britney Spears has been getting back into the swing of things through a series of low-key performances under a pseudonym, but her latest appearance was beset with technical problems.

Being caught lip-synching was bad enough for Ashlee Simpson last year, but Britney had it worse when her backing track skipped five times, plunging her 15-minute set at the House of Blues in Orlando, Florida, into confusion.

Furious fans were reportedly unhappy with the Toxic singer's performance, especially for the price they'd paid.

"It was an ugly scene," a source told the Daily Mirror.

"The crowd, which had been on her side, started jeering and heckling her. Britney looked absolutely devastated."

The technical troubles started as Britney was lip-synching to Do Somethin', with the CD skipping five times before the end of the track.

Fans were reported to have demanded their money back from the venue to make up for the debacle.
