X Factor - Claws are out with Sharon and Dannii

13 December 2007 - Sharon Osbourne claims Dannii Minogue was only chosen to be an 'X Factor' judge for her looks.

The razor-tongued wife of rocker Ozzy Osbourne has slammed her rival judge for having no knowledge of the music industry, insisting she was only hired by Simon Cowell to be the panel's eye candy.

Sharon, 55, said: "Dannii knows she's there because of her looks, not because of her contribution to the music industry.

"She's younger and better looking. Simon wants her and he doesn't want me - thank God!"

The fiery tempered judge also revealed to BBC chatshow host Graham Norton that she enjoys fighting with the 36-year-old Australian singer.

Sharon said: "Dannii speaks about me and I speak about her. It's kind of round one then round two - and we're up to round ten by now.

"It took me three years to say something nice about Simon, so I've not done bad with Dannii."

And Dannii - who has two acts in the final, Leon and Rhydian, while Sharon has none - thinks viewers enjoy the fights as mush as she and Sharon do.

She said: "I guess you put two women together on a show and people want to see a catfight!"
