The One and Only - Tara Stafford Allen says she feels like death

24 January 2008 - Britney Spears wannabe Tara Stafford-Allen has been commended for her "strength of character" for performing while ill.

Vocal coach Carrie Grant said Tara's health has been touch-and-go all week and it was uncertain as to whether she would be well enough to perform on Saturday night, according to the Skegness Standard.

"I have got a bug that is going round and I am generally feeling like death," Tara said.

However, she managed to get through a song and dance routine to the classic Britney Spears track Baby One More Time, which was good enough to see her continue through to the next round.

"I am determined to not let illness hamper my performance, whatever I am feeling. I want to just go out there and do it and hope that it is enough," she said.

Tara, from Candlesby, has taken a leave of absence from her job with the Lincolnshire police to follow her dream of becoming a singer.

Although she has only been performing as Britney Spears since March 2007, Tara is no stranger to the world of tribute acts, as she was formerly a member of an Abba-inspired group that once toured India.
