Strictly Come Dancing - Strictly Copycat Dancing
18 October 2007 - 'Strictly Come Dancing' contestants have been accused of copying their US counterparts' dance routines.
Former 'Dynasty' star Stephanie Beacham - who was booted off the UK show on Sunday (14.10.07) - danced the Quickstep to KT Tunstall's hit 'Suddenly I See' in the live show on Saturday night (13.10.07).
However, just days before former 'Beverly Hills 90210' actress Jennie Garth did the same routine to the same song on 'Dancing With The Stars'.
A show source said: "The routines were very similar. You can't say Stephanie and her partner Vincent Simone stole the routine from Jennie - they would never have had the time.
"But producers of both shows know each other and must know what the stars are doing."
A BBC spokeswoman insisted the only thing that was the same about the routine was the music.
She said: "All the ballroom and Latin dances have certain repertoires of steps.
"So there would of course be similarities in the routines as they both danced the Quickstep.
"But Stephanie and Vincent danced an entirely different routine. It was purely a coincidence it was to the same music."
