Strictly Come Dancing - Costumes causing backstage spats

15 November 2007 - The glitzy gowns seen on Strictly Come Dancing are causing some tantrums backstage, it has been claimed.

It is sequins at dawn for some of the contestants, who according to Now magazine are competing with each other to see who can show off their best assets.

Quoting a source on the set of the glamorous ballroom show, Now reported that seamstresses behind the scenes make it a game to guess which celeb will ask for the most alterations to their outfit.

"They all want more cleavage and more leg," the source said. "The only two who have kept it relatively demure are Alesha Dixon and Letitia Dean."

It was also claimed that the more leggy dancers want shorter dresses to show off their pins, while those with bigger chests want lower necklines to wow the crowds.

It appears that the male contestants love the attention too, with many of them rather partial to fake tan and EastEnders actor Matt Di Angelo wearing mascara each week, the magazine continued.

The latest series of the show has included celebs such as Kelly Brook, Penny Lancaster and Kate Garraway competing to become the best in the ballroom.
