Paul Danan's foul-mouthed sacking
23 November 2007 - Paul Danan has been fired from his pantomime role in 'Jack and the Beanstalk' for swearing at children while switching on Preston's Christmas lights.
The 29-year-old actor - renowned for his drunken rows on ITV celebrity match-making reality show 'Love Island' - horrified 3,000 parents and children by shouting at them to "make some mother f***ing noise!" at the public event.
After two local radio presenters snatched away the former 'Hollyoaks' star's microphone, police issued Paul with an on-the-spot £80 fine and a penalty notice for disorder.
He later apologised, saying: "I got a bit excited and accidentally swore. I feel awful about it. I didn't realise there would be kids there."
The foul-mouthed outburst was Paul's second of the evening - he unleashed a swearing attack on another actor who asked why he wasn't wearing his assigned pantomime costume when he first bounced onto the stage.
Paul has now been fired from his lead role as Jack in Preston's production of 'Jack and the Beanstalk'.
Panto boss and mother-of-three Viv Wells - who runs Pele Productions - said: "He has been sacked, obviously because of what happened last night. We are a family-run business. I have three children of my own and our shows are for families and do not even have any innuendo in them.
"I did not have my kids with me last night, but I was left feeling sick because of what he has said in front of an audience of children and families. It was totally out of the blue and I am completely shocked."
Mother-of-two Kath Butterley, from Fulwood, added: "He really should have thought before he opened his mouth. What he said was absolutely terrible because there were so many children there."
Pele Productions are now looking for another actor to replace Paul in the panto which is running until January 8 2008 at the Preston Guildhall and Charter Theatre.
