Heroin overdose puts Danan in hospital
Former Hollyoaks actor and Celebrity Love Island star Paul Danan took a suspected heroin overdose and was rushed to hospital after falling unconscious.
He was admitted to King George NHS hospital in Ilford after a friend called 999 in the early hours of Tuesday February 20th.
A source told the Sun: "Paul had apparently overdosed and a friend of his dialled the emergency services. He was unconscious when they arrived and they had to revive him before rushing him to hospital. It was pretty touch and go for a time."
A fellow hospital patient said: "We saw him walking barefoot along the corridor in a grey hooded top and pyjama bottoms. He looked dazed."
The 28-year-old, who has previously admitted to taking cocaine, was found at his parents' £1 million Essex home.
Only last year, Danan vowed to stay clean and said that he wanted to teach children about the dangers of drug-taking.
The actor's agent confirmed that he had been taken to hospital, but refused to give any further details.
Danan played Sol Patrick in the UK teen soap opera Hollyoaks until 2001 and had recently been working on a sitcom in America starring Bill Cosby and Minnie Driver.
