Graham Norton says X Factor's not got talent
1 November 2007 - Graham Norton has hit out against the latest crop of X Factor contestants, claiming that they lack the required star potential.
The 44-year-old told the Sun that "this year's show has not been particularly great" and claimed the line-up represents "12 people who are basically not up to much".
Graham has previously hosted talent shows on the BBC such as How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?, Any Dream Will Do and Strictly Dance Fever.
He admitted that the only contestant on this year's X Factor which has impressed him is 34-year-old Niki Evans.
"I quite like her. She's OK, but the rest aren't dazzling," he remarked.
"I suppose it just shows how shallow the talent pool is in Britain at the moment if that's the best we can come up with."
Although the presenter lost out to Ant and Dec in the category of Most Popular Entertainer(s) at the recent National TV Awards, he explained that he has exciting future projects to look forward to.
The Ultimate Tribute Act - which Graham will host - involves a competition between singers who want to impersonate their favourite bands.
