Lucy Speed

EastEnders actress Lucy Speed to join The Bill

2 October 2007 - Lucy Speed is the most recent former EastEnders cast member to join the cast of The Bill, it has emerged.

The 31-year-old, who played Natalie Evans on the BBC soap on an intermittent basis between 1994 and 2004, will begin filming her new role at the end of the month.

Her new character is a lively CID officer named Stevie Moss, who does not always open up emotionally.

"Stevie's one of those people who you think is really open, but she's just very good at hiding her true feelings and what's going on in her life," Lucy said, according to Digital Spy.

"I think the really exciting part will be my ride-along days with the real police - it'll be great to see how it all happens."

Several other former EastEnders actors have landed roles or guest spots on the ITV drama after leaving Albert Square.

Louisa Lytton, Gillian Taylforth, Roberta Taylor, Hannah Waterman, Anita Dobson, Dean Gaffney, Pooja Shah and Todd Carty have all appeared on The Bill.

And earlier this year, The Bill's Scott Maslen was wooed by EastEnders producers to play Jack Branning on the soap.
