Strictly Come Dancing - Leaving Alesha was so hard says ex-husband

21 December 2007 - MC Harvey has told a newspaper how difficult it was to break up with Strictly star Alesha Dixon.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, ex-So Solid Crew rapper Harvey said no one had ever meant as much to him as Alesha until he met Javine Hylton, who is now expecting his child.

He explained that although he never set out to hurt her, he knew he would be labelled a "love rat" after Javine's then-boyfriend found out she and Harvey were having an affair.

Describing Alesha as a "very respectful girl, a positive person", he said he truly believed she was the woman for him until, almost a year into their marriage, he met Daddy Cool co-star Javine.

"When I met Javine she was like a missing link in my life," he added. "She had this ability to give me the answers that Alesha never could."

"After I told her about Javine I just sat there like a zombie while she shouted at me for two days."

But Harvey said he is still in contact with his ex and is rooting for her to win the final of Strictly Come Dancing this week.

She is up against Matt Di Angelo in what could be the closest battle yet.
