Dancing on Ice - Chris Fountain has to leave Hollyoaks
29 January 2008 - Chris Fountain is set to leave 'Hollyoaks' after being offered £100,000 to star in the 'Dancing on Ice' live tour following the contest finale.
The actor - who plays bad boy Justin Burton on the Channel 4 soap - is currently splitting his time between training for the ice-dancing show in London and filming 'Hollyoaks' in Liverpool, but has reportedly decided to leave the soap in favour of the 'Dancing on Ice' live tour.
A show insider told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Chris has been juggling both shows. He's been travelling loads and is really shattered. He's been told it's the tour or 'Hollyoaks' and now ITV have offered him £100,000 to stick with them. That's the real clincher."
Meanwhile, viewers of Saturday's show (26.01.08) - where Chris was given top marks for his ice dance with partner Frankie Poultney - were left blushing by host Holly Willoughby's skimpy white dress, which showed off an "inappropriate" amount of the 26-year-old presenter's ample cleavage.
One viewer wrote on an internet forum: "That dress was inappropriate for Holly to wear on a show at 6.15pm when there are children watching."
In another blow to the show, Olympic-medal winner Christopher Dean, who coaches the celebrity contestants with skating partner Jayne Torvill, will miss out on this week's show after undergoing keyhole surgery to fix damaged cartilage in his knee today (29.01.08).
Jayne will now have to perform on her own, for the first time in 35 years.
Christopher said: "It'll be odd for me to see Jayne skate on her own! But I'll be back on the ice very soon."
However, Jayne laughed that despite being bedridden for a week, Christopher is still working her hard after choreographing a tough solo piece for her to open the show with.
She said: "I've skated with Chris since I was 15, and he's always there to give my hand a little squeeze before we start. I might feel lonely out on my own.
"But Chris has choreographed my routine and I swear he's given me one that's harder than ever!"
