Lost - Naveen Andrews reveals previous drug addiction
1 February 2008 - Lost star Naveen Andrews has opened up about his previous addiction to heroin, according to the Sun.
The Brit actor, who plays ex-Republican Guard soldier Sayid Jarrah in the hit drama series, is to appear on Jonathan Ross' chat show and discuss the two years he spent hooked on the drug.
Although he had already built up a varied CV prior to Lost, Naveen is probably best known for his role as systems expert Sayid who, like the others on the island, has many skeletons in the closet.
But he will tell Jonathan Ross that before joining the show there was a real risk of his addiction going too far.
"There was a danger of me copping it," he explained. "When I was younger it was open, it was a miracle I got any work done.
"On The English Patient I was warned. But I used to collapse out of shot," he added, revealing that the turning point came when scared his son by driving him to school while drunk.
The new series of Lost begins on Sunday and will hopefully start to answer many of the riddles and questions that have puzzled viewers thus far.
