Celebrity Big Brother Hijack - Pete Bennett not watching
22 January 2008 - Former Big Brother winner Pete Bennett said he is not watching the current season of Celebrity Big Brother Hijack.
Speaking at the London auditions for the next round of Big Brother housemates, Pete told the Daily Star that last year's celebrity series featuring Jade Goody and Shilpa Shetty "has put me off" the programme.
"I'm not watching Big Brother. Most people I've spoken to think it's quite boring," he said while acting as a host to promote the upcoming series of the show.
The newspaper reported that turnout at the latest round of Big Brother auditions has been much lower than expected, with 20 people showing up at the Newcastle-upon-Tyne audition and 1,000 making their way to the London auditions - compared with around 5,000 during the last round of tryouts.
Meanwhile, in the current Big Brother house, contestants were cheered up this morning when they woke up to the sound of All Saints song Pure Shores, which was a hit in 2000.
According to Digital Spy, 19-year-old musician Calista was particularly enthusiastic about the music choice and said it was "really nice" to wake up to the girl-group tune.
