Sam Janus gets £450k EastEnders deal
Samantha Janus has been lined up to play one of two new Mitchell family members in EastEnders, scooping a £450,000 deal.
The Game On actress is reportedly on £225,000 a year for her new part as a Mitchell sister - one of Grant and Phil's cousins - in the BBC soap.
Viewing figures have been steadily falling on the London-based soap as BBC bosses desperately try to bring back fans with new ideas.
In a bid to boost ratings, the popular Mitchell clan is set to be expanded with Janus, 34, taking on the role of Ronnie and Rita Simons, 29, playing her sister Roxy.
Janus' salary has been the subject of much deliberation according to the Sun, which claims the BBC were after the Home Again star for a year.
A source told the paper: "EastEnders were desperate for Sam. They really had her in mind for the role and they went all out to get her. She wanted big bucks - and she got them."
