Louis coming back to The X Factor

After being acrimoniously dumped from The X Factor three months ago, Louis Walsh has got his seat back on the judging panel.

Producer and fellow judge Simon Cowell had axed Louis in an attempt to refresh the talent search show, but has now changed his mind and signed him back in a £1 million deal.

Despite feeling Simon had betrayed him with the sacking, Louis, 54, buried the hatchet last month on a This Is Your Life special about Simon.

An ITV source told the Daily Mirror: "Simon was touched that Louis appeared and thought he may have been hasty in dumping him.

"He has had to eat a rather large portion of humble pie but was prepared to do it to get Louis back."

Louis will replace American choreographer and music video director Brian Friedman on the judging panel, who moves to being the show's "creative guru", according to the unnamed source.

Commenting on his U-turn, Simon said: "If I'm honest I have missed Louis a bit and I think the show has missed him too.

"He is ecstatic about being back on the show."
