Fashion is key for Jenkins, says expert
25 September 2007 - Katherine Jenkins' fashion identity is one of the key factors in keeping her on the celebrity A-list, according to one expert.
Elliott Pill, a former adviser to footballer and style icon David Beckham who is now a public relations (PR) lecturer at Cardiff University, told the South Wales Evening Post that fashion is one of the three elements the singer needs to consider to keep her in the public eye.
As well as looking right, she needs to concentrate on her singing career and her personality, the PR guru said.
In comments to the Welsh publication, Mr Pill said: "There are three elements with her - her singing career, her fashion identity and her personality. If you're juggling those together, you're going to keep yourself on the A-list.
"So if her career carries on in the same vein and she keeps selling, that's the core of what she's about, being a well-renowned operatic star."
Being seen as a "fashion icon" and keeping her feet on the ground are two things to focus on, he added.
Jenkins shot to fame with the release of her first album Premiere - a record which made her the fastest-selling soprano of all time.
