Natasha sides with Lily in fat spat

Natasha Bedingfield has waded into the somewhat childish row between Cheryl Cole and Lily Allen.

The Unwritten singer decided to take Lily's side in the battle of words, after the youngster blamed Cheryl's comments for her recent depressed state.

Natasha told the Sun: "I don't respect people who try to get on with their career by putting down other artists.

"I just don't understand it. Lily is an amazing artist."

Lily recently upset fans by claiming she felt "fat and ugly", causing many to question a music industry that is more obsessed by looks than talent.

And Natasha admitted she knew how Lily felt, saying she doesn't like watching herself on TV.

"I can't bare to watch videos of some of my performances because I think I look fat. But girls over obsess," she said.

"I'm really happy with my figure. I'm a curvy girl and men seem to like it."

The debate over size-zero models has been raging for some months now, although Lily's comments have stirred up more arguments over the weight ideals held up before young impressionable girls.
