Amy Winehouse´s duet with Doherty

1 November 2007 - Amy Winehouse is set to perform a duet with Pete Doherty at the MTV Europe Music Awards tonight (01.11.07).

The 'Rehab' singer - who is nominated for three awards at the Munich ceremony - was confirmed as a last minute addition to the line-up yesterday (31.10.07) and is hoping to wow the audience by joining the Babyshambles rocker on stage.

A source said: "MTV have been trying to persuade Amy to appear for ages. When she heard Pete was performing she thought it could be fun.

"Amy and Pete are going to get together to see if they can work out a duet.

"The organisers wanted to add a bit of spice to what is seen as a squeaky-clean awards show."

Pete and Amy - who have both spent time in rehab - have been working on new material for some months and are said to looking forward to showcasing their efforts at Munich's grand Olympiahalle.

The source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "They have been working on material together with the plan to perform it. This would be a perfect place to do it."

While Babyshambles are not nominated in any categories, Amy is in the running for Best UK & Irish Act, Most Addictive Track for 'Rehab', and best Album for 'Back to Black'.

Other acts confirmed to perform at the ceremony, hosted by Snoop Dogg, include Foo Fighters, Mika, Avril Lavigne and My Chemical Romance.
