Lloyd Webber keen to work with Eminem

Arguably the most popular theatre composer of all time, Andrew Lloyd Webber, wants to work with rapper Eminem on a West End show.

The writer of hit musicals such as Phantom of the Opera, Joseph and Cats is a keen admirer of the Detroit rapper's lyrical skills and thinks his talent for song writing could make great musical theatre.

"I've got a lot of time for Eminem," he told Heat magazine.

"He writes great lyrics which are way ahead. I don't know him well but I have met him and I think he's very intelligent."

However, how much 8 Mile star Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers III, would want to be involved in a stage production is unclear, however.

In any case, the rapper has seemingly missed out on donning a multicoloured dreamcoat by not going on Sir Andrew's reality TV show Any Dream Will Do which is soon to come to its climax.

However, Sir Andrew recently told Jonathan Ross on his chat show that he has no idea which contestant will win the role of Joseph in the upcoming West End production.

"Star quality is incredibly difficult to find... I genuinely don't know who Joseph is yet [but] we will find the right person... ultimately I've got to have somebody I know can deliver," he said.

So maybe the door's still open, Marshall?
